Nathan Hartono's Electrifying Performances At Sing! China Auditions - Zhong Guo Xin Ge Sheng

Soulful, boyish and earnest. Nathan's rendition of "有没有" (Loosely Translated: "Did You Ever...") charmed the audience and judges during his audition at 中国新歌声 (Zhong Guo Xin Sheng Ying).

中国新歌声 (Zhong Guo Xin Ge Sheng) - "Sing! China"  is a popular singing competition/variety show in China that's in it's 5th season.

The song "有没有" (Loosely Translated: "Did You Ever...") is roughly about someone missing his lost love. Someone reminiscing about his past relationship. "Did you ever love me??.. Did you ever think of me?.. Did you ever feel something more..? Things that you/I couldn't say.. " Regret.. angst.. and longing.

His woeful and heart-wrenching performance captured the essence of the song. Together with his boy-next-door looks, his audition was a joy to watch.

You would probably start to root for him unknowingly as his continued singing through the song, wondering if he stood a chance to be chosen by any one of the judges.

And as moments passed, one by one, each of the judges turned to approve of his singing prowess and potential.

He chose Jay Chou as his teacher for the rest of the competition.

They refer to him as "向洋" or "Xiang Yang" in Mandarin in the show.

Rui En Songs

I didn't know Rui En could sing till I heard Di Ya (陈迪雅) from Cha Ban Sheng (插班生, The Freshman) singing Rui En's "Tao Yan" in a singing competition some time back. It was such a nice song so I wanted to listen to it again and I searched online and found out it's actually Rui En's song. OMG.

Some research:
Rui En has dabbled in the Taiwanese music industry before returning to Singapore to focus on her acting career. She looks like a teenager in those videos! Here are some of her previous songs:

So there was a recent hooha in China with regards to the TV DRAMA "Empress of China Wu Zetian".

Apparently the outfits the actresses were wearing were too revealing for audiences, and they had to pause the show and edit it before it was resumed airtime.

YVONNE LIM & ALEX TIEN Welcomes Baby Boy AJ aka Alex Junior

AJ was born 2 days after Xmas 2014 on 27 December at Mount Elizabeth in Singapore.

Weighing in at 3.6kg and born via a C-section, he was named Alex just like his Dad.




According to a report from todayonline.com, Yvonne and Alex changed their initial plans to have a countdown baby after a visit to their gynae on Xmas Eve and after thoughts:

“We decided we should have Christmas dinner together and (have the baby) today,” Tien said. “We were also afraid a lot of people would try to have New Year babies and the hospital would be really busy.”

Kelly Pan Jia Li 潘嘉丽

Kelly got my attention with her super long legs in her MV "情人 " (You Are Still My Lover).

What a transformation.

 

 And boy, the stylist did her a huge favor and showed off her lovely legs to a T.

 

 

I don't mean to be rude.

 
 
Her voice is melodic and nice, but it does not really stand out from the bunch of outstanding singers out there in the market.

 

But her legs, plus her voice, it's a whole new ball game, IMHO.

 

 

Daring but good move. I mean Beyonce dresses like that on stage all the time. 

But for an Asian to pull it off, it definitely took some guts.
