SHOW INTRODUCTION:
Chen Zhenhao (Rui En), a slighly plump woman with permed hair, is an ordinary "auntie" sort. Her husband, He Daxian (Andie Chen), is a handyman. Their son, Zijun, is a hyperactive child. Meihua, who is living in the unit below Zhenhao’s, complains about her dripping clothes.
Zhenhao apologises and explains that her washing machine is out of order and has yet to be replaced. Daxian promises to buy a new washing machine and refrigerator once he accepts a few more jobs.

Xiwen’s good friend, Kaiqin (Tracy Lee), arrives to congratulate them. Xiwen goes to the toilet. A man sneaks up to her and points a knife at her neck. Andy accuses Xiwen and Degang of using underhanded means in their business, thus causing him to go bankrupt. He declares that he will not let the matter rest.
Because of Degang, Xiwen has a strained relationship with her father, Huo Zhiyong (Li Wenhai). Zhiyong’s company is in financial difficulty. Xiwen offers to help, but he turns her down. Zhenhao’s mother-in-law, Xiumei (Hong Huifang), wins some money and gives Zhenhao $50. Daxian wants Zhenhao to save the money so that Xiumei can use it to recoup her losses the next time.
Zijun has learning difficulties. His teacher suggests enrolling him in a special school. Zhenhao decides against it as she does not want her son to be discriminated against. Zhenhao suspects she has breast cancer. After a checkup at the hospital, she bumps into Xiwen.
They were secondary school friends. Their relationship soured as a result of love issues with Lin Sen (Rynn Lim). Zhenhao gives up all her savings to help Daxian clear his friend’s debt. She is so angry that she makes a wish to go back in time and change her life by not marrying him. As Zhenhao is walking into a tunnel, a paranormal phenomenon occurs and she is transported back in time 10 years.

SHOW PLOT SYNOPSIS:
Huo Xi Wen (Paige Chua) married Huang De Gang (Elvin Ng) against her parents’ wishes. Xi Wen and De Gang worked hard at their business and eventually expanded their single storefront into 20 outlets across the country.
With his newfound success, De Gang started having affairs with several women. Xi Wen, who is about to go into labor, gives up hope on De Gang. Tragedy strikes as she loses her baby during childbirth. She also learned that her father committed suicide because of financial difficulties caused by De Gang.
She blames De Gang for all these misfortunes and regrets marrying him. Chen Zhen Hao (Rui En) suffers a similar tragic life ...

It turns out to be a dream. Zhenhao still hopes to go back to 2006, a time when she had freedom and few struggles. Daxian suggests betting on the number 2006. He promises to pamper them with gifts if he wins. Zhenhao would rather he help her sister, Zhenzhu, and daughter, Wenfang, who are in need of money.
Xiwen buys a bag of health food and asks Kaiqin to take it to her father. Kaiqin reveals the bank has sent a final warning to Zhiyong to clear his debts, failing which, he is to wind up his company. Xiwen cannot imagine the aftermath, if her father were to lose his company. Kaiqin assures her that Zhiyong is currently negotiating a collaboration with Mr Teo.
Xiwen receives intimate photos of Degang and a woman, sent to her handphone. Flora appears and demands $100,000. Xiwen turns her down, saying Degang will dump her after he gets tired of her. Degang apologises to Xiwen.
After they lost their baby 10 years ago, he is thankful she is expecting again. He wants her to give him another chance. Zhenzhu cannot pay her rent and has nowhere to stay. Zhenhao wants to pawn her wedding ring to help her.
However, Daxian has already pawned it to buy goods with which to start a small business. The goods are defective, so Zhenhao’s money is all but lost. She has a huge quarrel with Daxian. Zhenhao picks up a wallet in the lift.

Xiwen questions Degang’s motives, and he reasons that the move will benefit both parties: He will acquire the company’s patent rights, while her father will have the means to tide over his financial crisis.
Lin Sen saves Xiwen from being robbed. They have not seen each other in a long time. From the newspapers, she finds out his restaurant business is expanding and there are branches all over Asia. Learning about Zhiyong’s financial crisis, Lin Sen proposes injecting funds into his company. Xiwen is grateful.

Zhenhao and Xiwen faint. Zhenhao wakes up. She looks in the mirror and sees herself as young and slim, with beautiful skin. She does not look like a 40-year-old. Zhenzhu nags at Zhenhao for being lazy and not cleaning herself up despite the late hour. Zhenhao is surprised her sister’s leg has healed. Looking at the calender, she finds she is in 2006.
In her sleep, Xiwen hears her mother, Wanjie, calling out to her. She is bewildered, as her mother has long been dead. Xiwen clasps her hands tightly. Though unable to make sense of it all, Xiwen is thankful to be able to see her parents alive. Zhenhao looks for Xiwen, who asks if she too has just come from 2016.
Zhenhao nods furiously and asks if they will be able to return to 2016. She is amazed at having been single once again, in 2006. Zhenhao wants to go back but Xiwen wants to stay. Zhenhao goes back to the tunnel but nothing happens. Xiwen tells her to be optimistic and thankful that at least she is healthy now and does not have to worry about being jailed. She just needs to wait for the right time to meet Daxian.
Zhenzhu arranges a blind date for Zhenhao, who strongly opposes the idea. Zhenzhu refuses to budge. Zhenhao deliberately irritates her blind date, Alex, who leaves in a huff. Zhenzhu chides Zhenhao and while they are bickering, Zhenhao slips. Fortunately, Daxian saves her but he sprains his ankle. Zhenhao makes a fuss over him but he reacts coldly towards her.
Xiwen breaks up with Degang. He objects but when Zhiyong appears, he agrees reluctantly. Zhiyong supports Xiwen’s decision as he finds Degang dishonest. Zhiyong fires Degang’s foster father, Hongtao, for selling beauty products that the company has disposed of. Degang claims he is not aware of Hongtao’s misdeeds. Nonetheless, Zhiyong fires Degang for accepting bribes to import a low-grade brand. Someone follows Xiwen to the carpark. The person raises a wooden stick to hit Xiwen.

Degang saves Xiwen from being hit by Hongtao. Hongtao is bent on teaching Xiwen a lesson for firing and dumping Degang. Degang tells Hongtao to stay out of his business. Degang approaches Xiwen’s car cautiously to avoid being caught on CCTV.
He takes out a tool and punctures one of the tyres. Xiwen’s car stalls. A motorcycle stops beside her car. She recognises Lin Sen, and a warm feeling arises within her. Degang is infuriated that Lin Sen’s arrival ruins his plan to play the hero.
Zhenzhu can tell Zhenhao likes Daxian. When Zhenhao tells Daxian they are both fated, she claims it is she who brings him bad luck. Degang refuses to give Xiwen up. He still considers her as his girlfriend. Zhenzhu is impressed by Daxian’s happy-go-lucky personality.
She speaks so well of Zhenhao that Daxian finally agrees to go on a date with the latter. During their date, Daxian behaves coldly towards Zhenhao. He says she is not his type and tells her to give up pursuing him.
Flying into a rage, she vows to make him fall in love with her. Xiwen is planning to steal materials from Sunnie Trading for a chemical test. Degang offers his help. His hand is cut during the process and Xiwen’s heart wavers.
She forces herself not to feel anything for him. Zhenhao is certain Xiumei will be robbed. She helps to chase the gangster away. Grateful, Xiumei invites her home, and claims Zhenhao is her lucky star. On her way home, Zhenhao encounters the gangster again. He wants to get even.

Zhenhao is outraged. Huiling swears nothing is going on between them. Zhenhao insists Daxian marry her to prove it. Though Zhenhao and Daxian have booked a date to register their marriage, she continues to feel unhappy.
They go shopping for wedding rings and chance upon Zhenzhu’s husband, Ivan, behaving intimately with a woman. Zhenhao is incensed. Daxian points out that they should only let Zhenzhu know after they have proof that Ivan is having an affair. Zhenhao suggests Zhenzhu open a dessert shop to earn a living.
This way, she will not have to depend on anyone. Zhenzhu does not take her seriously. Concerned, Zhenhao sets her mind on making the mistress leave Ivan, so that her sister’s marriage will not be in jeopardy.
She vows to hinder their divorce, thus changing Zhenzhu’s destiny. Xiwen is grateful to Lin Sen for fixing her car. She gives him a treat at his restaurant. He asks if she has fallen for him, but she claims he reads too much into things.
Degang returns to work at Zhiyong’s company, Yongjie Trading. He helps Xiwen secure sole agency for Look & Love. He invites her out to celebrate but she shuns him and gets close to Lin Sen.
Degang is dejected. With Daxian’s help, Zhenhao takes photos of Ivan and his mistress. She uses the photos to threaten to expose his affair to his company. Ivan has no choice but to break up with his mistress, and he returns to Zhenzhu. Zhenhao goes for a premarital health screening. She is shocked when told there is a shadow in her breast.

If he is able to boost the sales within six months, he wants to be allowed to date Xiwen.
Zhiyong reemploys him on the basis of his professional capability. But as a father, he disapproves of his conduct and deems him unreliable. Degang is waiting for Xiwen in a heavy downpour. She is put off by his persistence and wants only to escape from him. Saddened she is like a changed person, he insists his feelings for her have remained constant and he will not give up.
Kaiqin visits Degang, who has fallen ill. In a disoriented state, they get intimate. The next day, he apologises to her and asserts that he still loves Xiwen. Though Kaiqin feels hurt, she promises to pretend nothing ever happened. Zhenhao becomes paranoid about her health. She considers following the example of Angelina Jolie, and having her breasts removed to prevent cancer. Everyone opposes the idea.
Zhenhao drops the plan eventually. Ivan confesses to Zhenzhu that he has a mistress, Xiaona. They have a one-year-old son. Zhenzhu is infuriated, but accepts Ivan supporting two families. Xiumei loses money on the stock market. Xiwen sees her through her financial crisis. Xiwen is put in a dilemma about her relationship with Degang. Zhenhao demands Xiaona should leave Ivan. In a rage, Ivan insists on a divorce. Zhenzhu refuses. Her depression acts up and she threatens to jump off the building.

Zhenzhu slaps Zhenhao and blames her for provoking Ivan. Zhenhao states that Xiaona will ask Ivan to divorce her someday. Refusing to hear her out, Zhenzhu chases her out of the house. Daxian invites Zhenhao home to stay. Xiumei lets her stay in Xiaoqi’s room. Lin Sen dates Xiwen and gives her a romantic surprise. She is uncomfortable with his arrogance.
Recognising that they have different values, she is reminded of Degang’s good points. Daxian tries to mediate between Zhenzhu and Zhenhao but fails. He lets slip that they should treasure their time together as Zhenhao is going to get cancer in 10 years’ time and may not live past 40. Zhenhao finds it odd that Daxian knows what is going to happen in the future. He finds excuses to cover himself.
He does not want to admit he has also travelled back from the future. Xiumei is diagnosed with acute kidney failure. Zhenhao is the most suitable kidney donor. However, she is unwilling, and cites that her health could be affected. Daxian cannot understand Zhenhao’s decision. So as not to aggravate Xiumei, Zhenhao moves out and goes to stay with Xiwen. Degang saves Xiwen’s mother, Wanjie, from being hurt.
But he is seriously injured and hospitalised. He remains unconscious even after the doctors intervene. Xiwen is devastated. She cries inconsolably and her true feelings for Degang surface. Kaiqin, too, is worried about Degang. Xiwen can tell that she likes him. Kaiqin admits it, but is well aware he will only find happiness with Xiwen. Degang’s condition worsens. Xiwen and Kaiqin turn pale.

Zhiyong and Wanjie decide they will not object if Xiwen and Degang become attached. Xiwen is conflicted. Although she wishes to be with Degang, she is afraid things will go wrong again. Zhenhao worries when Xiumei goes gambling at the casino again, but there is nothing Daxian can do about it.
Xiwen plans to further her studies in France. She wants to get away from Degang so that they can sort things out separately. She breaks up with Lin Sen. After much persuasion, Xiwen reconciles with Degang. Lin Sen is indignant. Degang wants to stop seeing Kaiqin. She puts up a brave front.
Zhenhao rents a stall for Zhenzhu to sell dessert. Appreciative, Zhenzhu patches up with her. Zhenhao decides to donate her kidney to Xiumei, but only after she registers her marriage with Daxian. On Zhenhao and Daxian’s big day, a snake slithers into the house, terrifying everyone.

It turns out a loanshark wants to intimidate Xiumei into repaying her loan. The incident causes Zhenhao and Daxian to miss the marriage registration. Xiumei refuses; she would rather go for dialysis for the rest of her life. Zhenhao asks Xiwen for a loan.
Xiwen does not think this is the solution to her problems. If Xiumei continues to gamble, they will have endless loans to repay. She suggests Zhenhao make a police report. Xiwen celebrates Degang’s birthday. Recalling the time when they had just become a couple, they enjoy a loving moment.
Xiumei is threatened by the loanshark for assisting police investigations. She is infuriated to learn Zhenhao is the person who filed the police report. The tension sours Zhenhao's relationship with Daxian. Zhenzhu comforts Zhenhao and tells her that she can still live well even as an unmarried person.
Zhenhao disagrees and insists she must marry Daxian. Xiwen finds out that Degang had used unscrupulous methods to outshine his colleague Eric. Degang promises it is the last time he will employ such a tactic. Zhenhao makes up with Daxian. Xiumei forgives Zhenhao when the latter vows to protect her from harm.
Daxian wins the first prize of $250,000 in the lottery. He is overjoyed his family can finally enjoy a good life. He and Zhenhao cannot believe their eyes when they witness Xiumei falling off a building after being chased by the loanshark.

Daxian is sure a price has to be paid for the windfall, and warns that Xiaoqi or Zhenhao might get into a mishap if he keeps the money. Zhenhao snatches the lottery ticket from Daxian. She tells him to reconsider his decision, and declares she will return the ticket to him only after a week.
Degang proposes to Xiwen, who suddenly remembers Wanjie will suffer a stroke that day. They rush home immediately. Luckily, Wanjie pulls through. Degang finds it odd that Xiwen knew this would happen. Zhenhao refuses to return the ticket and runs away. Daxian chases after her. Suddenly, a flower pot falls from the building and almost hits Zhenhao.
Daxian grabs the ticket and tears it up without hesitation. Daxian decides to break up with Zhenhao. He reveals he too was transported back from the future. He feels helpless, unable to change the future, and does not want her to suffer with him. She is heartbroken. Xiwen matchmakes Lin Sen and Zhenhao.
Lin Sen's arrogance puts her off, and Zhenhao rejects him. Xiwen is pregnant. Degang suggests a lavish wedding but Xiwen disapproves. He wants to start his own business but Xiwen objects. Though he makes a show of giving in, he is not pleased. Both drunk, Zhenhao and Lin Sen get intimate.

Xiwen is apologetic and blames herself. Xiwen meets up with Lin Sen and slaps him. He admits he is in the wrong and will take responsibility. Degang carries a crib home. Xiwen almost slips trying to help him.
She is worried about the baby and intends to rest at home. She wants Degang to move into her house. Lin Sen gives a $50,000 cheque to Zhenhao as compensation. He asserts that this is his way of expressing his apologies and he is not out to humiliate her. Zhenhao is about to reject it, but changes her mind.
She wants to borrow the money from him and assures him she will return it. Zhenhao hands the cheque to Daxian for his business. Refusing it, he claims he will enter into a joint venture with Huiling. He tells Zhenhao not to pester him.
Xiwen and Degang have a simple wedding. Lin Sen gives them his best wishes. Degang gets back at Kaiqin without Xiwen’s knowledge. Zhenhao’s hopes of patching up with Daxian are dashed. Anguished, she texts a death note to both Daxian and Xiwen. They rush to the tunnel to find her. An accident happens, and Xiwen suffers a miscarriage while Daxian breaks his leg.

She feels helpless. Zhenhao moves out of Xiwen’s house. Still emotional about the loss of her baby, the latter turns a blind eye. Zhenhao thinks things through and calls off the wedding with Lin Sen.
She moves back to Zhenzhu’s house and decides to start a new life. She removes her wedding ring, which was given by Daxian, and places it in the drawer. Zhenhao chances upon Huiling and learns she and Daxian have started an online shop together.
She encourages Huiling to start a romantic relationship with Daxian and even writes down what he is fond of. Xiwen is anxious to get pregnant again. Degang is unhappy he has to comply with her wishes both at home and at work.
He confides in Kaiqin and they continue their affair secretly. Ivan is ditched by Xiaona. Without a job and a place to stay, he seeks Zhenzhu out. She relents and lets him move in. Xiwen goes for a gynaecological check up and is shocked to witness Degang behaving intimately with Kaiqin.

She dismisses his suggestion, and he is incensed. Zhenhao tends to Daxian when he is ill. However, she instructs Huiling not to tell him. Zhiyong decides to dabble in the property market. Although Degang is in charge of the project, the decision-maker is Xiwen.
Indignant, Degang persuades Kaiqin to help him invest in property secretly. A customer complains about a cockroach in the dessert and demands $5,000 compensation. Ivan mediates, and reduces the amount to $3,000. Zhenzhu complies reluctanly. Suspicious of Ivan, Zhenhao tails him.
She stumbles upon him colluding with the customer and Xiaona to cheat Zhenzhu. Zhenzhu severs her ties with Ivan. Xiwen follows Degang and Kaiqin secretly. She realises Degang has asked Kaiqin to set up an urn for her dead fetus. Touched by his sincerity, Xiwen decides to no longer doubt him.
Little does she realise he is merely staging an act. Daxian saves Zhenhao from being attacked by Ivan. Huiling realises Daxian and Zhenhao still care about each other, and encourages him to give the relationship another chance.

Daxian believes some things are predestined, including his fate with Zhenhao. He decides not to run, but to embrace it and face the odds with her. Zhenhao is overjoyed, but concerned about Xiaoqi’s reaction. Xiwen proposes to hand the property project in its entirety over to Degang.
Zhiyong hesitates, but relents when Xiwen expresses her confidence in Degang. Kaiqin congratulates Degang for achieving his aim. He gives her credit and affirms that he will not forget her help. Xiaoqi cannot accept Daxian going back to Zhenhao. She skips school and goes to nightclubs to show her unhappiness.
Xiwen sees a Chinese physician who tells her it will be hard for her to conceive. Anxious to get pregnant again, she agrees to exercise and nurse her body back to health. Zhenhao tells Xiwen that she has seen Degang and Kaiqin behaving intimately. However, Xiwen maintains her trust in Degang.
Afraid Xiwen will be cheated again, Zhenhao informs Wanjie, who assures she will investigate. Swayed by Huiling’s point of view, Xiaoqi agrees to accept Zhenhao even though she has mixed feelings. Wanjie meets Degang and Kaiqin. She tells them to break up at once and instructs Kaiqin to leave the company.
Degang refuses, and blames his infidelity on Xiwen. Wanjie is so agitated that she suffers a stroke. Degang turns a blind eye and leaves with Kaiqin.

Wanjie passes away. Zhiyong and Xiwen are grieved. Zhenhao and Zhenzhu go to a temple to pray. They see Kaiqin there, kneeling and praying. Guilt-stricken, she does not meet Zhenhao’s eyes. Kaiqin leaves in a hurry, and Zhenhao senses that she is hiding something about Wanjie’s death.
Zhenhao tells Xiwen about her encounter with Kaiqin at the temple. Even though Xiwen maintains her trust in them, her suspicions are aroused. Xiwen starts to piece things together and follows Degang secretly. She finally stumbles upon his affair with Kaiqin.
She is shocked to learn they did not even attempt to save Wanjie when she had her stroke. Daxian proposes to Zhenhao, and she agrees to marry him. They fail to notice Xiaoqi’s strange behaviour. Degang hopes Xiwen will give him another chance, but she is bent on a divorce.
Zhenhao finds out Xiaoqi has been inflicting wounds on herself. Not wanting Daxian to be caught in the middle, she breaks up with him. He is unwilling to let her go, especially after they have braved so many obstacles. He wishes he could go back in time yet again, stop Xiumei’s death and change the path of their lives.
Xiwen is overwhelmed by her mother’s death and Degang’s betrayal and wants to fix her life. Daxian, Zhenhao and Xiwen walk to the tunnel, and a paranormal phenomenon occurs.

Unexplainedly, the trio is transported back to 2016. Zhenhao is lying in a hospital. She has been sleeping for two days, but the doctor is unable to find anything amiss. Daxian is sleeping soundly in a Shanghai hotel. Woken up by a hotel staffer, he realises he is back in 2016. Xiwen opens her eyes.
Thinking she is still in 2006, she is overjoyed. When she finds out she is in 2016 and that her mother had passed away of a stroke 10 years ago and her father has dementia, she is dumbfounded. The trio has returned to the current time, but it is not the reality they are familiar with. Everything is new to them.
Zhenzhu and Zhenhao have been supporting each other and have opened several branches of the dessert shop. Daxian’s online business is growing steadily. Xiaoqi becomes an editor of a magazine. At night, Daxian thinks about Zhenhao. Zhenzhu calls him and tells him Zhenhao is still unconscious. Daxian rushes to the hospital.
Degang and Kaiqin are married and have a son named Eddy. Zhenhao regains consciousness. She and Xiaoqi get along very well. Daxian’s hope of getting back together with Zhenhao is rekindled. However, she is hesitant. Zhenhao has a medical checkup and is relieved when told she does not have cancer. Daxian is found to have stage two prostate cancer.
Degang wants to acquire Zhiyong’s house. Xiwen pleads with him to back off and is allowed two months’ grace. Looking at Degang and Kaiqin’s happy family life, Xiwen feels resentful that life is unjust. She blames her plight on Degang and vows revenge.

Zhenhao visits Daxian, who reacts coldly on account of his illness. He gets a lawyer to draw up a will, leaving his assets to Zhenhao and Xiaoqi. Xiwen succeeds in making Degang believe she still has deep feelings for him. He returns to her.
Xiwen looks into the financial health of Degang’s company. Despite him being in a strong financial position, he has not shown mercy to Zhiyong and herself. Her hatred for him deepens. Zhenhao finds out about Daxian’s illness. Undeterred by his claims of not wanting to be a burden, she insists on being with him.
He is moved. Kaiqin bumps into Degang and Xiwen. She asserts that she will not divorce Degang, as she wants her son to have an intact family. She has been a third party in the past, and will now make things up to Xiwen. Xiwen did not expect her plan to sow discord between Degang and Kaiqin to fail. Xiwen hires someone to kidnap Kaiqin and Eddy.

Xiwen is outside the tunnel, guilt-ridden. She gives instructions to the abductors. While Xiwen is cooking dinner for Degang, he suddenly receives a photo of Kaiqin and Eddy, tied up and blindfolded. Later, a ransom of $5 million is demanded.
Xiwen suggests calling the police. Degang rejects the idea and rushes to his office to prepare the money. Daxian’s operation to remove the cancer is a success. He and Zhenhao decide to get married. Degang and Xiwen follow the abductor’s instructions and pay the ransom. Thereafter, they head over to pick Kaiqin and Eddy up.
Eddy’s asthma acts up. Desperate, Kaiqin jumps down from the second storey, in an attempt to get help for her son. When Degang and Xiwen arrive, Eddy is dead, and Kaiqin is paralysed. Xiwen berates the abductors for causing death and injury to the hostages. They are not remorseful. Her conscience pricking her, Xiwen talks in her sleep.
Degang realises she is the mastermind behind the kidnap and insists on filing a police report. She begs for forgiveness. An unforeseen accident occurs, and Degang dies. The lawyer discloses that 60 per cent of Degang’s company’s shares have been willed to Xiwen. Zhiyong’s house is also to be given to her.
Touched by Degang’s kindness to her, Xiwen is deeply grieved. Zhiyong commits suicide. Looking back on all that has happened since returning to 2016, Xiwen cries bitterly. Xiwen meets Zhenhao and Daxian at the tunnel. She wants to go back and fix her past again. Their views differ, and they are deadlocked.
