Hacking Away The Wall Between Service Yard and Kitchen

Wanna increase the space between the kitchen and the service yard.

Guess the only practical thing is to hack it!

Here's a reference point on how much bigger it looks after hacking via renotalk.
Look at how much light there is!

Single Light That Can Change From Warm To Cool Light With Controller

Doing massive research as our home is upcoming up. Sorry for the massive posts of home improvement related posts.

So the SO and I were having discussions on whether we should have warm lighting or bright clinical lighting for the rooms. We like the cozy effect of the warm tones. But when we need to do work or read, white lights are the way to go.

So when I read that it's possible to have both options via a single light source. I was intrigued!!!

there are 3 kinds for u to choose from.

1. only 1 colour tone
2. can switch btw warm white, daylight and cool white
3. you can adjust ur own colour - all the way from warmest to coolest

i got the third type. it is selling at CNY299 but there is a CNY100 discount for every 1 item you buy.
so its CNY199. there a few more discount voucher if u hit a certain amount.

i also got a smaller one for my service yard.

French Doors For HDB

Have not seen any French Doors in most of the HDB renovation designs
that I've been browsing on the web.

Wonder why.

They look so classy and pretty. They also take up less space than a Full Door.

Is it because it's too expensive?
Or it's not a popular choice?
Or is it not available in Singapore?
Is not not allowed to be installed in a HDB?

Tried googling and the closest thing I could find was from Sapphire Windows:

I like the open kitchen concept of this renotalk Blogger that used bi-fold doors with black rimms:

It opens up the space at most times and yet allows the kitchen to be closed fully during cooking that might be oily and smoky.

HDB 3 Room Interior Design Feature - 0932 Design Consultants

Was watching SMALL SPACES on Channel 8 regularly,
and was struck particularly by this interior design studio's work. It's freaking amazing.

0932 Design Consultants.

I think it comprises of 2 guys who have architectural backgrounds in previous architecture firms: Roystern Goh & Low Chee Khiang.

They decided to strike out on their own in 2011 and have done pretty well.
(I'm a noob, but I think they're super talented!)

I'm in awe at how they turned a tiny 3 room old HDB flat into a sleek and chic living space.

Loving the spatial treatment, lighting, opacity changes throughout the rooms and how minimalistic and sparse the furniture are utilized.
